The Brewer’s Jam that is! I woke up bright and early to a beautiful morning. The anticipation began right away. I had a few errands to run but could not wait to head to the Downtown Grill and Brewery for the tradition of a burger to get the day started! Some in our group of 6 decided to start the meal with a beer. I chose to have water for extra hydration! I felt sure this would help with not getting too drunk over the next few hours! I was VERY wrong! This is the only picture from the day:
This pretty much sums it up. I wish there were more pictures but the memories are good! The Tennessee Valley Homebrewers tent was the first stop. The Coconut Porter was delicious as usual. There was a cask beer that was great. Ratchet’s butternut squash was a huge hit! Things start to get fuzzy after that. Yes, it was a bit early but the rest of the day flew by! I remember the Jalapeno Smoked Porter from Country Boy Brewing. It was more jalapeno with very little smokiness. Definitely best in small doses. Wolf Hills Brewing Company had a nice Oatmeal Stout. If my memory is correct, the IPA from West Sixth Brewing was interesting. Flat 12′s Half Cycle IPA was not a favorite of mine. Geezers Brewing Bitch Pudding was one that I had last year and went back for seconds this year. The name lured me back and it wad still good!
Things started going downhill at this point. I ended up covered in beer pretty much from head to toe! Finally my friends just poured beer on the empty spots (I’m still trying to get beer stains out of my favorite shirt)! It was time to go home! The walk home was a little wobbly. Some of my friends headed to Barley’s for some final brews but I knew I was finished so headed upstairs, maybe ate a little something and crashed shortly thereafter! It was a great day with perfect weather, good friends and good beer! I can’t believe it passed so quickly!
Hopefully my photographers will adapt to my new look and start taking pictures of me again. I’ve missed the limelight. I may (or may not) eventually explain where I’ve been and why I look a little different but right now I’m focusing on getting back in the routine!
