Ol’ Saccy survived Christmas and squeezed in some fun at the last minute!! The worst was over and I headed toward the New Year enjoying a few good beers along the way.
Stopped in at Suttree’s High Gravity Tavern last Thursday after a delicious meal at Nama with some good friends. I just had a couple of flights since I had to work the next day. This is Left Hand Brewing Company Fade To Black, a very nice black IPA.
I really enjoyed the Brooklyn Brewery There Will Be Black. It was sweet with a nice hoppy finish.
I was on a dark beer kick and loved the Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout. The theme of the night must have been black (didn’t even get that until I was typing this).
I grabbed this Craggie Brewing Company Burning Barrel Bourbon Chipotle Porter. Craggie is going out of business so this one won’t be around. You definitely get the chipotle flavor. I hate to see any brewery close, so sad.
It was time to head home and take care of the dog but I really wanted to try the Left Hand Brewing Company Ambidextrous Ale in case they didn’t have it on my next visit. Thanks to Steve D. for giving me just a little sample taste. Good stuff.
And you won’t believe this but I actually stayed home Friday night. I was fortunate enough to have I’m Warming You from Ratchet Brews in the fridge. I’m a lucky dino! I’m also looking forward to some beers that Ratchet is brewing up as we speak!
Watching MANU at home and enjoying a Finch’s Brewing Company Cut Throat Pale Ale. Perfect Saturday morning and I’m excited about 4 days off work.
